Pat's People and Places

These are the addresses of people and places I visit, from time to time.  Some I visit frequently, some occasionally.  Others are reciprocal entries for those kind enough to add a link to my place here from theirs ....

Please browse.  I hope you find an old friend here, or a new face that will attract you.  Happy travels!

http://www.walktalkireland.com/     Walking and Talking in Ireland

My brother Sean will take you Walking and Talking (well, this is Ireland : how can you walk and not talk) in the land of Joyce, Yeats, Wilde, Shaw, Friel, Moore, Heaney, Bruen , Doyle, Higgins, O'Reilly, O'Connor....Mullan.....    So if you're a writer or a reader you know you must 'walk and talk' in this land.  Your muse will love it.  Worst case, you'll love the 'craic' and the Guinness!

http://www.gaylelynds.com/        Firstly, Gayle is a very special lady - and secondly, she's a marvellous writer.  She is co-President of International Thriller Writers Inc (of which I am a member) and you can see a video of a workshop that Gayle presented on writing the thriller at ThrillerFest 2006, if you visit her website.  And - you must get her latest brilliant work, The Last Spymaster.

http://www.davidmorrell.net/     As David says when you enter his website:  "Welcome to the David Morrell Network! You are about to embark on an e-journey like no other. This is the Master of Intrigue's showcase and you're invited to have a look around."   Well, I would paraphrase that and say that you are about to meet a writer like no other.  Famous as the creator of Rambo from his novel First Blood, his most recent work, CREEPERS, will have you transfixed.  A masterful writer, I recommend that you read his Lessons from a Lifetime of Writing.  David is co-President (with Gayle Lynds) of International Thriller Writers, Inc.  I feel very privileged to know him and to have shared a panel with him at Left Coast Crime 2006 in Bristol, England.

www.jamesrollins.com   James Rollins, New York Times bestselling author of BLACK ORDER.  What can I say about Jim Rollins?  He's just a great person with a wonderful droll sense of humor. He signed MAP OF BONES to me, describing me in these words "my favorite Irish noir author".  I've read MAP OF BONES and I am a believer!   Believe me!  I believe in Jim Rollins - forget THE DAVINCI CODE!    Can't wait to read BLACK ORDER.

In 2006, his white-knuckle crime fiction bloodied the pages of The Best American Mystery Stories.  Next up are appearances in The Deadly Bride anthology and in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine.
